Note on Repeated Witnesses
As you move through this chapter you will notice that certain Quranic verses (especially Surah Al-A’raf 7:189) appear more than once. This is intentional. Genesis 5 is written in a highly repetitive pattern: each generation follows the same rhythm of years lived, a son born, more years lived, and other sons and daughters. The strongest Quranic parallel for this continuing multiplication of the human line is the statement that from the first pair “many men and women” were dispersed. Repeating the same clear witness allows the pattern to settle deeply. Just as the Hebrew text itself repeats its formula, the cross-tradition light is allowed to repeat so the disciple can see and remember the same truth from multiple angles. This is deliberate repetitive learning, not oversight.

Genesis 5:1–2
This is the book of the generations of Adam. When Elohim created man, He made him in the likeness of Elohim. Male and female He created them, and He blessed them and named them Man when they were created.

Genesis 5:3–4
When Adam had lived 130 years, he fathered a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth. The days of Adam after he fathered Seth were 800 years, and he had other sons and daughters.

English:
It is He who created you from one soul and created from it its mate that he might dwell in security with her. And when he covers her, she carries a light burden and continues therein. And when it becomes heavy, they both invoke Allah, their Lord, “If You should give us a good [child], we will surely be among the grateful.”
But when He gives them a good [child], they ascribe partners to Him concerning that which He has given them. Exalted is Allah above what they associate with Him.

Genesis 5:25–32 Heads-up: The genealogy formula continues through Methuselah and Lamech. Surah Al-A’raf 7:189 remains the primary thematic witness for the multiplication of the line. The naming of Noah receives its own distinct resonance.
